About the Seminar Series

Each year the NYCRF conducts an Introduction to Surfcasting Seminar Series. This four-part seminar series provides instruction on all aspects of surfcasting.

Seminar 1: Getting Started: Surfcasting Gear
Seminar 2: Getting Started: Surfcasting Gear (continued) and Lures
Seminar 3: How To’s and Factors to Consider
Seminar 4: Where to Fish, Conservation and Fishing Etiquette

All topics are covered from understanding what gear to have, what lures to use and when, how to read the beach, how to use the tide and moon phases to your advantage, and various strategies for success on the sand.

The series is hosted by NYCRF Vice President Ross Squire and William “Doc” Muller, both prolific surfcasters in their own right.
