NY Surf Fishing Contest
The New York Coalition for Recreational Fishing in partnership with The Fisherman Magazine oversees the New York Surf Fishing Contest. The Contest runs from April 15th through November 30th.
It involves surf fishing clubs on Long Island in their pursuit of striped bass, bluefish, weakfish and summer flounder.
The Contest has a conservation ethic with all striped bass and 98% of other species caught released.
